On 20 October 2026, a debate entitled “Career Change and Personal Branding” took place in Wrocław as part of the “50+ in the Labour Market – Facts and Myths” series, under the patronage of the Association of MBA Organisations in Poland.
The event brought together perspectives from business, psychology and human resources. The discussion explored how professionals can make use of their experience, develop a credible personal brand, identify new career opportunities and challenge stereotypes about people over 50.
Gdańsk and Wrocław working together
The debate was moderated by Ewelina Strawa, MBA, psychologist, career coach, Vice President of SAMBA Gdańsk and initiator of the project. The MBA alumni communities of Gdańsk and BCB4 in Wrocław contributed to the event. Speakers included Ilona Byra, Kamil Stefańczak, Dorota Brejna and Sylwester Cetera, Vice President of MBA Polska.
The programme also featured a motivational talk by Andrzej Klose, “What Is a Crisis For?”. The event involved UP Talent and the HeyDay Foundation, with support from partners including CDD Legal, the Heweliusz Institute and sponsor SONKO.
The debate is a practical example of cooperation among member associations and engagement with issues important to managers and employers. It addressed not only labour-market challenges but also the value of experience and the courage required to start a new chapter in one’s career.
A recording of the debate is available online. We encourage the wider MBA community to watch the discussion.
